Abstract

In the UK, railway rolling stock is within the scope of NIS. This is a new challenge to the industry, and Arriva has been at the forefront of responding to it. There are many challenges and responsibilities are not entirely clear but lessons have been learned which Arriva can share.

George is an ICT professional specialising in programme, project and service management. His experience and expertise has been gained in both development and support environments, ranging from mainframe systems to global networks. He has enjoyed a wide variety of roles and has been successful in the management of change, and introduction of best practice, in the most challenging environments. This has included projects in the UK and other countries. Most recently, he has focused on cyber-physical system implementations and associated cybersecurity, and has driven the introduction of cybersecurity controls and supporting management capabilities on behalf of his clients in the railway industry. He holds a Masters Degree in Cybersecurity from Northumbria University London, UK.
